Craving Italian

My friends call me the worst Italian ever. I’m half Italian, but I’m not into Italian food and definitely not pasta. I hate that heavy feeling after you eat a whole dish of it. Maybe it’s because I had it so much growing up that I shy away from it now, don’t know. My reason for mentioning it is that I find it strange that lately I’ve had cravings for Italian food. Maybe because I know I won’t have the option in Korea. They DO have American and Italian restaurants there, but they’re pricy. And to be honest I’m skeptical of if the Italian food will be any good. I’m a very hard critique on Italian food (well actually, on food in general). I guess that’s also since I grew up with it. My work sent me to New York City and so one night I trekked to Little Italy for dinner. My chicken parm tasted so authentic and I was so happy. I even asked a little old lady on the street who had the best tiramisu around and she pointed me to Café Palermo a block away. It was amazing. I’ve also decided to have a farewell dinner with my friends at church and planed that at an Italian restaurant. What’s come over me?

Hi Angela,

Wow, I read through all of your posts today after you sent me the email that linked me to your blog. I didn't realize that you had started writing here when you had. I really enjoyed reading the things that you wrote about. You know how to make them entertaining and you are good at it. Perhaps you should consider some type of a career in writing. I certainly will be looking forward to hearing from you and keeping up with your continuing blogs, and so sharing in all your new adventures. Will some of your activities be missionary in nature? Perhaps after you have become settled in, you may see where some of those opportunities can take place.

Thanks for sharing in the way that you have. I draws my heart closer to you, and it will help the long periods of time being away to be easier.

I'm so very glad (really thrilled) for you, and so very proud of you. I also love you very much.

i can totally relate! right before i moved out of my house to nyc, i was craving korean food. before that, i NEVER craved or ate korean food. i think it's the homesick-before-you-leave-home syndrome that always kicks in when we know we're leaving for real. anyways, you're leaving in a couple days..! keep us posted and thanks for recommending a good dessert place in the city. i'm definitely gonna try it out. :)
